Get in Touch
Ryan reads every inquiry himself and responds personally. To make that first exchange as useful as possible, include a few details when you write in: your target species or type of fishing, the dates you have in mind, how many anglers are in your group, and your experience level on the water. If you are thinking about combining destinations or fishing styles across multiple days, mention that too. The more specific you are, the more direct the answer.

Common Questions
That depends on what you are fishing for. Permit, bonefish, and tarpon on a fly rod means San Pedro. Offshore for sailfish or marlin means Placencia. A relaxed reef day without building a dedicated fishing trip around it means Caye Caulker. Tell us your primary target species and we will sort the destination from there.
The offshore peak runs November through March: sailfish concentrate on the Placencia drop-offs as the water cools and bait stacks. The best window for permit on the flats is March through September, when the weather is stable and the fish are feeding actively. Tarpon peak April through June during the spring migration. Reef fishing holds year-round with no strong seasonal variation. For the full species calendar, see the [guide to fishing in Belize](/fishing-in-belize/).
All tackle, terminal gear, and a valid Belize fishing license are included. Water is on the boat. Billfish, sailfish and marlin, are always released. Wahoo, dorado, snapper, and other table fish are yours to keep if you want them. Flights, accommodation, and meals are not part of the charter. If you need recommendations on where to stay in San Pedro or Placencia, ask in your inquiry and we will point you in the right direction.
No minimum skill level is required for reef fishing or offshore. For fly fishing the flats, casting experience helps, particularly for permit, where presentation matters more than almost any other variable. If you are new to fly fishing and want to target permit specifically, mention that in your message. We will set realistic expectations and structure the day to give you the best chance on the water.
Flats skiffs run one or two anglers. We do not run shared boats on the flats. Offshore and reef charters have more flexibility depending on the vessel. For groups of three or more who want to fish together, include the headcount in your inquiry and we will recommend the right setup.
The offshore season out of Placencia (November through March) and the tarpon migration window (April through June) fill up well ahead of time. If you have specific dates in mind for either of those windows, reach out early. Shoulder season dates have more flexibility. We will give you current availability as part of the inquiry response.
